Hey everyone my name is Amy Van Buren. In the 7th grade, I woke up one day and decided that I wanted to play guitar. So my parents decided to sign me up for guitar lessons and I started learning on my mom's nylon string classical guitar. Over the years I have become so fascinated with different kinds guitars and I've learned to play on both acoustic and electric guitars.
Until my sophomore year in high school, I was that weird girl who was all into classic rock and playing Led Zeppelin songs on my electric guitar. One day someone asked me if I could sing. I laughed it off because singing was probably the last thing on my to-do list. However one day I realized I never actually tried singing before, so I gave it a shot. At first I was really shy about it, but as I started recording songs on my own, I grew to like this whole singing thing.
My music style has changed dramatically since I first started playing music. It's gone from playing classic rock/grunge songs on electric guitar to playing love songs on acoustic guitar. I started writing songs my sophomore year of high school and now it's my absolute biggest passion. I write songs to tell my life story and to hopefully to make you smile. I hope you like what you hear, and if you have ever found yourself singing just a single line from one of my songs, all I can say is thank you. :)
